Margate
DEPTH is a Margate house music series where emerging DJs share the bill with selectors who have played for decades. We began working with DEPTH on the live visuals for Session.001. Our role now extends into the time between events, when the next session is taking shape.
Experiences and photography Session.001
For Session.001, we created custom animation and mapped the projections within the venue. We used MadMapper to synchronise the animation to the music’s tempo, controlling the visuals live and triggering the lighting by hand. We also photographed the projections and the audience on the night.
Design and motion Between sessions
We continued working with DEPTH on Sessions.002, .003 and .004, helping shape how the series appears on social media. A recurring part of our work is deciding how much of the frame to give to the lettering and how much to the photograph. A few words in large, condensed type can carry an announcement. When the focus is on a DJ, the portrait takes the space, with the DEPTH name and session number placing the artist within the series.
We develop the still and moving artwork alongside one another. For Session.003, for example, we explored how an artist’s portrait could emerge from silhouette over a music loop.

The accompanying Session.003 announcement reel builds the words “This is deep house” in large, condensed lettering against black, alongside the DEPTH name, session number, date and venue details. The lettering moves in time with the music.
The announcement is for Saturday 14 November 2026, 9pm–2am, at HOFFS, 18 Marine Drive, Margate.
